Maintenance and upgrades

  1. Have given the whole boat a polish.
  2. Removed and sanded and re varnished all the woodwork. This took quite a long time for a boat that had so little woodwork. I did such a good job on the step down into the boat that I had to buy some adhesive non slip patches to sop me sliding on the step.
  3. Removed the rudder and rebuilt the pulldown system as a turning block had been installed that stopped the rudder going down and as a result the boat had weather helm.
  4. Replaced all stays and diamonds.
  5. Cleaned out the boat and shampooed all upholstery.
  6. Fitted a steering lock so I can lock the tiller in place to move around the boat for short periods of time.
  7. Used heat shrink to redo the covering on the radio aerial.
  8. Fitted a stainless steel fold down ladder on the transom so I can board the boat more easily. The old ladder was the type that hangs over the stern and was not very practical as it was so cumbersome.
